Global Steering Group for Impact Investing, Sri Lanka (GSG Impact Sri Lanka)
Entrepreneurship plays a vital role in driving economic growth, fostering innovation, and creating employment opportunities, especially for youth and women in rural areas. Impact investment made with the intention of generating positive social and environmental impact alongside a financial return is crucial. The current landscape of impact investment is critical for stakeholders including investors, policymakers, and organizations seeking to leverage capital.
As Sri Lanka’s very first and only impact investment firm, Lanka Impact Investing Network (LIIN) is focused on channeling private capital to solve pressing social and environmental issues in Sri Lanka by promoting impact investments across the island.
LIIN is responsible for developing Global Steering Group for Impact Investment in Sri Lanka (GSG Impact Sri Lanka), and also for delivering high-quality, gender-responsive entrepreneurship development training to specific entrepreneurs, with a particular focus on those who are owned, operated by, or serving women. The key objective of this initiative is to foster a supportive and enabling environment especially for young and female entrepreneurs to thrive and succeed in their businesses.
