Chamara Saumyasiri is a young entrepreneur from Anuradapura. He produces concrete converting blocks, which can be used for construction projects. He sells his products to hardware stores and with increasing demand for his product he seeks investment to expand his production. For manufacturing, he uses “fiber” produced from waste plastic bottles which have been major environmental issue. In addition to that he uses waste fly ashes produced from Norochcholai power plant as another material to produce the covering block and instead of sand he uses waste rock dust as his final material for his production. Since he uses waste as martial for production, his product creates a positive environmental impact. Even though similar products are available in the market, this product is the only locally produced product available in the Sri Lankan market. With the expertise as civil engineer and his available network, he is intended to supply his products to major construction projects. He was provided with initial investment to buy machines and molds to increase his production.
