We are a group of qualified and experienced professionals with the shared vision of building a thriving social enterprise sector in Sri Lanka. We have identified the need for a dedicated impact investment company in order to support the emerging social enterprise sector in Sri Lanka.

Impact investments are intended to deliver both financial returns and social and environmental benefits. Thus the emergence of LIIN is at a critical moment in time. Our country today is faced with a myriad of social and environmental problems such as child abuse, domestic violence, drug menace, alcoholism, school dropouts , unemployment, aging population, chronic kidney disease and other non-communicable diseases, lack of proper healthcare, solid waste disposal, pollution, sea erosion due to climate change , corruption, ethnic disharmony to name a few. Government institutions and non-governmental organizations have failed in their mission to find sustainable solutions to these problems.

This vacuum has led to a rising set of budding social entrepreneurs with the sole mission of finding innovative and sustainable solutions to these problems through a business-like approach. Whether it be a rural farmer practicing sustainable organic cultivation or a group of young professionals creating a new platform for education and employment opportunities for the underprivileged communities or an entrepreneur building a mini hydro power plant there is a new generation of businesses with the core purpose of creating social and environmental impact.
