We are a group of qualified and experienced professionals with the shared vision of building a thriving social enterprise sector in Sri Lanka. We identified the need for a dedicated impact investment company in order to support the emerging social enterprise sector in Sri Lanka.

Impact investments are intended to deliver both financial returns and social and environmental benefits. We are starting LIIN at a critical moment of time. Our country today faces unprecedented social and environmental problems. Child abuse, domestic violence, drug menace, alcoholism, dropping out of school, unemployment, aging population, chronic kidney disease and other non-communicable diseases, lack of healthcare, solid waste disposal, pollution, sea-level rising, government corruption, ethnic disharmony are just a few of the fast growing social and environmental problems. The government institutions and non-governmental organisations have failed to find sustainable solutions to these problems.

We are now seeing budding social entrepreneurs with the mission of finding innovative and sustainable solutions to these problems through a business-like approach. Whether it is a rural farmer practicing sustainable organic agriculture or a group of young professionals creating new education and employment opportunities for underprivileged communities or an entrepreneur building mini hydro power plants there is a new generation of businesses with the core purpose of creating social and environmental impact.
