LIIN, WUSC Host First-ever Investor Pitch Event for Entrepreneurs
The GRIT-EDTP successfully concluded its first cohort pitch competition at Jetwing Jaffna, marking a key milestone in empowering women-led enterprises in Northern Sri Lanka. Funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by LIIN in partnership with WUSC, the program supported entrepreneurs through 10 months of training, mentorship, and business development to enhance resilience and investment readiness. The pitch event featured 10 entrepreneurs presenting innovative, impact-driven businesses across sectors such as food processing, handicrafts, and agro-industry to a panel of judges, investors, and industry experts. Pallueir Ltd. emerged as the winner, followed by Uma Products, Mathi Mixture, Nutri Food Packers, and Kavitha Palmyrah Products and Exports, with winners receiving seed capital to scale their ventures. The initiative highlights the growing focus on strengthening women-led businesses and fostering inclusive, sustainable economic growth in the Northern Province.
