Uditha Samarasinghe

Ms. Uditha Samarsinghe is a social entrepreneur from Kegalle and is the owner and founder of Ceylon Herbals Ltd. She creates value-added tea products mixing dehydrated herbs which are grown in the area. Uditha buys these herbs from local farmers in the area and all the packing is done by home-based workers. Ceylon Herbals in unique, as they do not use any artificial colors and flavors in the products. Mainly she sells her products at the Good Market- Colombo. In addition to that, she sells her product in national exhibitions as well. Ceylon Herbals were pledged an investment Rs. 300,000, and has received half of the promised investment to date.
